As a teacher, I do a lot with kids after school but mostly my volunteer

and I started a marching band for adults in Los Alamos (it's called
the Hill Stompers, and it is modeled after Atlanta's Seed &
Feed Marching Abominable, where we met). We are also involved in
the Los Alamos Little Theatre, a community theatre organization,
and we teach Sunday school for teens at our church.

Cued Speech is a system that some deaf people use for communication.
It has been shown to aid deaf children in developing literacy skills.
I promote Cued Speech in the New England area by teaching classes,
giving presentations to raise awareness, and working as a CS interpreter.
I also serve on a number of volunteer committees for the National
Cued Speech Association, with the primary purpose of standardizing
CS and overseeing Instructor certification.
When I can stay in one place, I volunteer for literacy programs.
I also fundraise via bike rides for MS.
I am president (and a founding member) of the Delaware Valley Professional
Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma (professional chemistry fraternity).
I started an outreach program called "Adventures in Chemistry"
which is a hands-on science program for children. We also do chemical
demonstrations. I am secretary of the Delaware Section of the American
Chemical Society and work with National Chemistry Week and other
outreach activities. I am chairperson of the Hercules Federal Credit
Union board of directors.

I am on the board of directors of two non-profits--Community Housing
and Services (a low income SRO housing corporation), where I was
President for two years, and The Progressive magazine. I am also
a member of the ACLU of Wisconsin's lawyers committee.

Involved with a number of humanitarian demining NGOs, with studies
of technical solutions to landmines, and with the landmine ban movement.
Mentoring young adults, political affairs with Democratic Party
I have previously done volunteer work for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts
of America, volunteer Gifted Students Program instruction, and event
support for Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering
student competitions. My current project assignment has me traveling
a lot, and my volunteer work has been reduced the past year.

nature-walks in the woods, etc.)
The most recent activities involve our oldest son - I have been
a manager / coach / assistant coach for his soccer and baseball
teams. In the Fall of 2000, I was the division coordinator for his
soccer league. I am the Treasurer-designate for his Scout troop.
Volunteer in the annual Household Hazardous Waste collection day
(1994 - 2001). Served on the Houston Area GT Club's Board of Directors
from ~1995 - ~1998, serving as Treasurer or Secretary/Treasurer
for most of that period. Chair of the Houston Area PS Selection
Committee, 1993 - 1998. Served on our subdivision's Homeowner's
Association Board of Directors (1992 - 1993; President in 1993)
as well as the Deed Restriction Subcommittee. Recently named to
the City of Seabrook Wetlands Advisory Board.

I am a member of a Altrusa International, Inc. of Atlanta, GA. Altrusa
International is an international association of professional women
and men who volunteer their energies and expertise in projects dedicated
to community betterment. Altrusa is also a community service organization
that espouses volunteerism, service and fights for literacy and
against AIDS. I currently serve in the following capacities: Director
and newsletter editor for the Atlanta, GA club and District Service
Bulletin Editor, District Three.

some Chicago schools this summer.
I write articles for the Junior League of Atlanta's magazine, Peachtree
Papers. I also sing in our church's choir.
