Hello! My name is Alex Wang and this page is dedicated to my experience on the Shanghai Chinese LBAT during the summer of 2008. The program was six-weeks of intensive language courses designed to provide students with 6 credits of Chinese. However, the trip to the Middle Country was a lot more than characters and tones. This was a chance to experience the culture of one of the fastest-growing nations in the world, with a home base in its largest city.

The following pages are just a glimpse of the fun I had while abroad. Everybody who goes to China climbs the Great Wall, tours the Forbidden City, and manages to squeeze in some authentic Chinese cuisine. However, only a first-hand account can begin to grasp the diversity offered by a country that has a sixth of the world's population. If you enjoy the unbeaten path like I do, China is definitely the place for you.
