Intro
With the help of the Fleet Scholarship, I was able to go on the Georgia Tech East Asia Program in the summer of 2008. The program focuses on East Asian economic and political development. During the 8 week course, we traveled through South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong. By stopping in two or three major cities in each country and visiting universities, multi-national corporations, manufacturing plants, and government offices, we compared how each country has developed and become an exporting powerhouse. The whirlwind adventure took us everywhere from low-tech textile and plastic manufacturing sites to high-tech semiconductor plants to large steel plants to tractor parts factories.
Using the tabs at the top, you can take a look at the travel map, itinerary, and just a handful of pictures from each country. Thanks for visiting, Joshua |
