Where I went...
I spent the summer in Nunoa, a section of Santiago, Chile. During my time there, I got to visit El Tabo, Vina del Mar, and San Pedro de Atacama. El Tabo is a beach where we had our retreat [pictured right]. I never thought I would visit a desert but San Pedro was a great experience, I saw flamingos, geysers, and went sandboarding. To the left is a picture of me in the Valle de la Luna, incredible! All of my pictures are on my flickr account!
What I did...
The main reason that I went to Santiago this summer was to work with a Christian campus ministry called El Oasis. El Oasis is a ministry that is available for students from all of the universities (more than 100!) in Santiago. I got to help plan and run events, meet with students, and learn lots of Spanish! My emersion crash course taught me so much and it was a goal of mine to go from the very little Spanish that I knew to being conversational.
