What qualifications must I meet and how do I apply?
What is the deadline for consideration?
Application submitted on-line by November 1
What's the last time that I can take the ACT or SAT and
have my scores count?
November. Scores must be sent by the testing agency to Georgia Tech as an immediate recipient. You do not need to have October or November scores rushed to us. Normal delivery will be fine. If you are having scores from an older test sent, they may arrive after the Nov. 1 deadline as long as they arrive around the time of the November test scores.
Is there a citizenship requirement?
Yes, you must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Is there a minimum SAT I score, GPA, or class rank needed to apply?
No, there are no artificial cut-offs. There used to be a test score cut-off, but it was eliminated before the 1998 competition.
Is the SAT II required?
No, SAT II scores are used only for advanced placement after you enroll.
Are transfer applicants eligible?
Sorry, no; only first-time freshmen are eligible.
Is an application for the President’s Scholarship binding?
No, applications for the President’s Scholarship are not binding.
Is applying to GT by the PS deadline binding in any way?
No, Georgia Tech and the President's Scholarship Program do not offer an early-decision option. The November 1st deadline for the PS simply allows for consideration of your application in the scholarship competition. Early submission in no way binds you to attend GT, if accepted.
You will have until May 1 to choose to enroll at GT and accept the PS, if selected.
Can I get a tuition waiver as an out-of-state student?
No, Georgia Tech does not use tuition waivers as other schools do. A remarkably high percentage of undergraduates are from out-of-state, and they realize the value of a Georgia Tech education.
